Navigating The Map

To open map from home page: click on markers over active coutries world map, or search for major world cities.

Note: that detailed maps only for USA, EU, Japan, Australia...

To move map: use the top left navbar or left click & drag map.

To zoom in & out: left click & drag slider or buttons on top left navbar.

Note: satellite & map detail levels vary between countries.

Tags

Tags are words that members select to describe places.

Members can add their own tags to places from the place posting window (see below).

Everybody’s tags are a reflection of all members’ tags.

Browsing Places

Move map & see places, tags, members & images change.

Hovering over map marker & see its tags, author, heading or image. Or vice versa.

Note: Only the most recent and popular records are shown on map. To see others places zoom in or move map or use search.

Search

To refine your selection of places viewed: by click on tags, search for tags or click authors & opt to 'show places'.

You will see your search choices in top window.

You can delete any of your selections by clicking on their tag with red x or opting to go back to see all records.

Viewing places

Click on map marker or its heading in place list to see its over view in a speach bubble.

Note: You cannot click markers in shadow of speach bubble. To see these records you need to close current speach bubble first.

Click 'more details' in speach bubble to see place details.

Note: clicking on tags changes underlying map, which you can see by closing the posting window

Rating places

From place details you can add the place to your favorites or vote for places. The places you voted for or against appear in your profile page.

Adding & editing content

To add images you browse your hard drive, select the image and upload it. Note your upload speed may be slow and it may thereby take a few seconds to transfer image to us.

Members can also add comments & tags to places.

To add images from Flickr...

If you created the record you can edit the heading & initial description by clicking 'Edit this' & typing in yellow boxes of title and initial description & clicking 'save changes'.

Your Profile

To edit your profile: click 'Edit this' in top nav bar & type in yellow boxes of title and description or upload your photo and 'save changes'.

To add a friend: view their profile & clicking 'add as a friend' in top nav bar Sending messages & links.

Note: The tags in your profile reflect your tags of your favorite & rated places.

To send message: click on member’s image & select 'send message' You can see your message in 'Sent'.

To send link to map or place click icon in map nav bar.
