National Park De Hoge Veluwe

National Park De Hoge Veluwe is known for its special combination
of art and nature. It covers over 5.000 hectares of woodlands,
heaths, pools and drifting sands fl ats. You can enjoy the unspoilt
nature, calme, space and silence by making endless walks or bicycle
tours. Especially by the end of the day you may very well run into deer,
mouffl ons, and wild boars. The Park’s free to use White Bikes are
world famous. There also is a Visitors’ Centre with the underground
museum the ‘Museonder’.

Kröller-Müller Museum

A unique experience of art, nature and architecture.
The Kröller-Müller Museum lies in the centre of the Hoge Veluwe
National Park, a unique nature reserve. The museum has an enormous
collection of impressionist paintings and drawings among which many
of Vincent van Gogh. Walking through the sculpture garden (25 hec
tares) you will encounter an impressive collection of sculptures.

Municipal Museum Het Hannemahuis

Municipal Museum Het Hannemahuis is located in a grand
mansion with annexes. The (art) history of Harlingen runs like a thread
through the collection. The museum exhibits paintings, ship models,
silver, pottery, tiles, clocks, illustrations and the complete works of
Simon Vestdijk in 1st edition. Behind the museum lies a beautiful

Dolfinarium

Open Air Museum

The Open Air Museum takes you on a journey back to days gone
by. Memories of your youth are rekindled and the way your (grand)parents
used to live is brought back to life as you enjoy the special presentations.
There’s something for everyone – young and old alike – in
the museum park. Fantastic (children’s) activities take place every
weekend and during the school holidays. From 1 December until 13
January it’s winter at the museum! During this period you can skate on
the large skating rink and enjoy an attractive route through the atmospherically
lit museum park.

Princessehof Leeuwarden

Princessehof Leeuwarden is the national museum of ceramics.
The endless variety in forms, colours and decorations in earthenware
and porcelain are breathtaking. The very best Asian ceramics and
Dutch art nouveau objects, ceramics from Europe and the Islamic
cultural area and also contemporary objects can be viewed in a
modernised display. The museum is housed in a charming 18thcentury
former palace. The famous artist M.C. Escher was born here
in 1898.

Winemuseum

In the old wine cellars of the Dutch Wine Museum, dummy’s
show in a lifelike manner the process of the different stages of wine
making and linked activities. The tour takes you from grape to wine.
On Saturdays, between 11.00 and 15.00 hours, groups with a maximum
of 6 people have the opportunity to visit the authentic cellars of
the winehouse Robbers & van den Hoogen, or ask for the extensive
wine packages that are offered to larger groups, or on other days.
