St Martins in the Field

An amazing church. Great choir, great history of speaking out on issues, great example of helping local community (50? volunteers work in its basement), beautiful architecture, friendly people.

St Bartholomew the great Church

A fabulous church. Great architecture, great music, great sermons. Maybe the oldest church in London. I did a tour of London's church services and this was the king of them all for me.

Royal Opera House

The most special of nights out. At a price, but worth it. The best uk musical experience. The new bar with its enormous window is really worth seeing too.

Victoria & Albert Museum

A treasure trove of things. For those of you who bike or walk, if your journey takes you by here set off 15 minutes earlier & drop in. All the arts & crafts from many countries & ages are represented.

The Windsor Castle

Traditional pub. Cosy wooden interior for the winter. Sometimes have beer festival with many different real ales.

Mandola's

Sudanese restaurant. Delicious food. Good value. Homely atmosphere.
Unfortunately now defunct. London couldn't cope with a Sudanese restaurant. So there's (another) Mexican one in its place.

Jakob’s

Armenian restaurant. Delicious healthy home-made cooking. She also does excellent party food. A real homely atmosphere.

Da Mario's

Local Italian. Family-run. Feels like eating in their own room. Wonderfully tacky Princess Diana Memorabilia (steps, painting, pizza name..). Their wine is foul. Memorable parties in basement, with dance floor.

Holland Park

Great tennis courts surrounded by roses. Ideal place for picnics listening to evening summer opera.

Dillons Gower St

Now called Waterstones. The best bookshop in London. Overshadowed by the showy flagship branch on Piccadilly.
